It's a PR battle at this point. One she is winning. Pascal is the one who ran his mouth off and looks worse for pulling his previous offer once it was accepted. Any hard stance Duva takes now is aimed at making Pascal look like the idiot he is for changing his mind.

Again, Pascal offered. He didn't say "I'll only pay if you use my testing." He said he'd pay for Kovalev's testing, period, until Kovalev accepted. Which IMO suggests Pascal didn't expect Kovalev to accept since Pascal has pulled this wait until after the contracts are signed to yell about testing stunt a couple of times. The offer has been exposed as insincere.

Duva is going to push that angle hard, and I don't blame her.

Yes, and that he's willing to use vada testing.

It doesn't matter. Testing or no testing, Sergey is going to knock the proverbial do-rag off Jean's head.

So what. Extra drug testing only became a big deal after Floyd made it a big deal.

Real fighters don't care about that ****.

She isn't. It was Kovalev who said that if he was going to be tested, he wanted it to be done by VADA, not the other agency Pascal uses.

All Duva is saying is that VADA is a reputable agency, who have caught out more PED abusing boxers than any other, and that Kovalev, as champion, had every right to select them to do his tests if that was what he wanted.

If Kovalev is so principled when it comes to using VADA, why won't he pay for it himself?

Nobody is absolved. Definitely not the guys under private, limited disclosure testing regimes. Pascal for example

Why should he? It was Pascal who called for the tests, and said that he would pay for them himself, and Kovalev actually went against Duva by agreeing to it. Duva didn't want any tests at all.

I guess you say he called Pascal's bluff, and threw in a challenge of his own - if we are going to do it, let's do it properly.
