Uh, Valero killed himself before he reached his potential obviously. He was on the verge of becoming a star. He was one to two fights away from a PPV with Pacquiao, not because he wasn't getting a push from white America, you troll. Plus there was the problem of him not being allowed to fight in the US because of VISA problems due to his DUI in Texas and other legal problems. Valero didn't become a star because he killed his wife and himself, that's it. He was getting a lot of hype prior, too bad.

No one in the sport of boxing created Golovkin lol. He became a star fighting his way up the ranks and getting an opportunity on HBO, which he made the most of and eventually earned himself a contract. Nothing artificial about Golovkin, he is a fighter, an entertaining fighter that people want to watch. As far as him lacking great wins, that is at no fault of his own, the bigger names turned him down Sergio Martinez, Cotto, Quillin and Chavez pulled out. Lesser guys like N'dam and Sturm all rejected fights with him. He can only fight those willing to step in the ring with him.

Ggg is destroying big underdogs, much like Tyson was. People loved them both. Must be that Great White Hype marketing gimmick

I like the GGG/Tyson comparison. I've liked it for awhile.

They don't have the same style, but they both search and destroy. Yes, I prefer Tyson's head and trunk movement over GGG's immobile noggin, but both guys have skills and a love for fighting.

GGG has a much more focused, steady mind. (He's not insane.)

But he's a lot older as champion. He's smarter and wiser, but he may not have a long road ahead. Remains to be seen.

Both fighters lack a meaningful opponent. Tyson was way past his short-lived prime when he faced Holyfield, etc.

GGG lacks anyone compelling to fight, someone interesting enough to capture a sizable audience.
