Cotto isn't nearly durable enough, he'll be wishing for plaster. I don't see anyone 160 or lower who has a chance. That's why 168 and specifically Ward gets thrown into the discussion. It takes a bigger guy who can crack him with better skills to have a chance.

I agree. Kovalev has the best jab to the body in the sport right now and he throws alot of feints

If were talking about fighters not considering weightclasses then I think Pacquiao, Lomachenko and Algieri have a shot

I think a fighter who knows how to jab and make him pay when he misses with some power behind it. Most guys he has fought don't punch very hard. However, just a straight up brawler won't work either. GGG will break them down. It would take a guy who could throw lots of punches with good power and a sturdy chin. GGG is going to land on anybody. He's too good at closing the gap and is not afraid to walk right through somebody. But it would definitely take an opponent with good power.

I think a Chavez Jr. fight would be interesting. Chavez could take his shots and hammer back at him. However, down the stretch I see Julio fading and possibly getting stopped on cuts.

Ward gets mentioned the most because, in the eyes of folks who generally watch boxing, he's the general "NSS choice". Still, there are other names that should be thrown into the mix, with the key criteria being that they come into the fight with sturdy chins/heart and that they box behind some volume of punches (enough to give Golovkin pause).

-Chavez Jr, tbh, is all wrong for Golovkin; he's got his father's granite chin, he's got good power, is a natural body puncher, and would likely walk into the ring for the fight at 180 pounds.

-Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade is also a pretty terrible matchup; he's got solid power, is longer than Golovkin, can box great off of the back and front foot, and is southpaw (questions stand about the quality of his chin, for the simple fact that I've never really seen him get hit flush with anything.

Add Froch, Abraham, and likely a few other guys at 168, for the simple fact that they'll walk into fights with Golovkin with big power. Canelo's natural combination punching may end up being bad for Golovkin too, tbh.

Floyd has a pretty strong chance with Golovkin for the simple fact that, if given a 24x24 ring, Golovkin has no chance of cutting off the ring against him. If it's 16x16 like the Murray ring apparently was, all bets are off.

I had it Murray 3-0 after 3 rounds. He just never threw with conviction to hurt Golovkin.
I had it equal after 4, then Golovkin took it from there.

There's no way Murray won the 3rd round. I gave him the 2nd and I could see the 1st also (it was super close), but nothing thereafter.

Salka doesn't have a chin. Algieri does and moves very well. Murray and Geale lost against GGG against the ropes. GGG is most dangerous when he has you on the ropes

You need someone who is constantly moving and throws alot of jabs. That why I said Algieri
