Just thinking about some of the threads floating about and who is proposed. If the guy can't hurt him, he doesn't care he'll walk him down. If he can hurt him he still needs to be able to outbox him and be more durable. People imagine Floyd, Floyd can't hurt him, he'll walk through him. Cotto isn't nearly durable enough, he'll be wishing for plaster. I don't see anyone 160 or lower who has a chance. That's why 168 and specifically Ward gets thrown into the discussion. It takes a bigger guy who can crack him with better skills to have a chance.

Ya I think a guy like ward has the best chance, he's tough and can negate other fighters strength. I personally don't think ward can hurt him so ggg will still go balls to the wall. Ward will be able to defend and tie him up, I just can't see him absorbing that punishment though. Never know until they fight though.

First of all you need someone with a great chin and legs. GGG has a great head and body attack. He will land and you have to be able to take some shots. Stevens, Geale and Murray are tough and I don't think any of them had been stopped before fighting GGG. He toyed with them.
Then you need someone with a long jab. The plan should be don't let GGG get close to you and score points from the outside and circle. Use every inch of the ring. Get off first, use double jabs, triple jabs, feints, basically every jab in the book.
Right now I don't see anyone doing it. Cotto would get destroyed.

If kovalev fought at middle weight he'd have the best chance because the range he can keep and his ability to escape. I don't see anyone else with that skill set.
