I think he might be a bit over rated by some of his fans but he might be underrated by myself and others. He is very good and going to the hall of fame for sure and many will rate him an all time great. I thought Margarito knocked him out with legal wraps and Canelo will knock him out if they fight. Cotto has some very impressive wins including his KO of Martinez.

I don't consider Hopkins of this era because he started fighting so long before Cotto and accomplished a lot of his career before Cotto started even fighting professionally. Wlad has the lineal HW title defended a relatively ordinary level of challenger for the most part.

He also lost to Chad Dawson and Joe Calzaghe, so they lost the same amount of times and I think Cotto's losses were "better" considering they were against ATG's. Joe isn't that and Dawson isn't even in the top 50 of his era.
