as much as i love him, i think marquez's time at the top of the sport has passed. there are several guys at welterweight i'd make favourites to beat him now. i don't have a problem with canelo making it onto the bottom of the list, but not many people would pick him to beat golovkin and according to the p4p concept, shouldn't that put triple g above him? kovalev's omission is criminal.

i prefer the boxingscene list, even though it also affords old marquez slightly too much respect.

off the top of my head, my list would be:

Bradley and Marquez shouldn't be on the list.

Canelo at 9 or 10 I have no problem with him on there, he's been fighting top fighters the last 2 years. He's supposed to be some bum yet the only guy who clearly beat him is Mayweather.

I thought he clearly beat trout and his fight against Lara was close either way.

You can say what you want about Canelo but he's fighting and beating young lions while trying to make the best fights possible.

It's comical that a cotto fan would try to shit on Canelo when miguelito doesn't want anything to do with the overrated red head.

Maybe if Canelo injures his leg or eye or both miguelito might finally make the fight happen instead of acting like a bitch made diva.

You need to get your facts straight...

Cotto turned down 10 million to face Canelo, by making 8.5 million against Martinez and became the FIRST 4 divisional champion from PR. If you think that's a duck, you're a ****ing idiot. Cotto would be favored or even against Canelo, he was a 3-1 underdog against Martinez and you picked him to lose.

It's also openly known that Cotto wants Mayweather so he was waiting for May/Pac to resolve itself, WHILE STILL negotiating with Canelo who said IN VEGAS ONLY and ONLY on May 2nd. Those are Canelo's conditions...

Now it's looking like May/Pac will happen on May 2nd and you were expecting Cotto to sign a date to fight Canelo when May/Pac would fight. Get your emotions out of the period cycle and just use your brain for a second. Canelo tried to play hardball and now will be fighting on HBO for free, not the date he wanted or the opponent he wanted. He left the table not Cotto... only one guy ducked this last time and it wasn't Cotto.
