Interesting point about the ESPN - HBO synergy. Where will HBO's next stars going to come from if all other TV outlets are controlled by Haymon? Gonna have to rely in foreign boxers with no previous American exposure.

major networks will drop boxing in a year or so.

boxing is a cable/ppv sport.

only reason boxing is getting a 2nd chance is demand for live programming and boxing uses UNDESIRABLE timeslots (FRI/SAT night)

This is one of the most ******ed comments I have seen to date on this subject. Major networks won't drop boxing because they are not providing boxing programming. They are selling airtime to PBC on Saturday afternoons and evening, timeslots when the major networks don't offer any original programming.

Boxing is not getting a second chance because boxing doesn't need a second chance. It has been growing continuously for nearly 100 years and is now more popular than ever, even though it is only on cable.
