Of course I have an agenda: the best fighting the best... one unified champion per weight division... a.s.o.

(By the way: it happens that I watched live Ali vs Foreman, for instance... Which is something you can't even comprehend what is like).

Also, I threw in the comment about inflation assuming that you would be intelligent enough to understand it. I obviously underestimated you.
when you compare boxers in the same era, there is some truth to it.

but it doesn't apply when comparing to the past when, dollar value, economics of boxing/sports, etc. are different.

david haye made more than joe louis. doesn't make haye more populqr.

      god you're a nitwit.

There will be more guys coming back too, Haymon has a lot of fighters to keep happy and it might be impossible to do. Im not saying he wont be successful but he wont keep all of the guys he signed forever. I think everybody who signed with him did it expecting giant paydays but theres not enough of those to go around when he has that many guys to worry about.

David Haye didn't make more than Joe Louis. Are you adding back inflation?

            no.

            that's my point.

he thinks boxers make more = boxing more popular

he's not taking into account inflation, ppv and cable, athlete's make more now, etc.

boxing is not more popular just because it has higher income now.

            • HBO has been hurting since Haymon and SHOWTIME linked up. HBO has been stuck with the sad scraps Top Rank is left with.

                • Haymon innovating should force HBO to do same. That should only result in more programming and better quality programming on WCB and BAD. If this forces HBO just to return those programs to what they were, we all benefit.

                    • ONLY if Haymons series provides COMPELLING matchups will it CATCH UP to HBO! The fact is that HBO is THE BOSS and will continue to be so. Do i think that CBS/NBC and all the other time slot buy that Haymon has will be good for the sport? Not sure yet, but his 1st card sounds good. But from the look/sound of a few other cards being put on(they would belong on B.A.D/Show extreme), they are good for the hardcore, bad for the casual.
