So far tis year, other than LSC/Rigo-which the most posters placed blame on Rigo for the fight not happening- the fights he has done and planned are quality fights.

At what point do you base 2015 on 2015?
In that case, Manny and Floyd should divide up the monies 50/50. Considering both are undefeated in 2015 and have the same number of ppvs.

Yea, thats how ****** you sound.

Much of what the CBS deal looks to be about is selling the Mayweather pay per view and publicizing the Showtime boxing brand.

Saturday afternoon fight cards aren't exactly a game-changer.
We had Saturday cards on NBC in the late 80s and early 90s. Didn't do much considering the guys that fought in those time slots weren't the best fighters. Its funny how these guys are acting like its a new concept.

Quality over quantity. Bringing tons of fights doesn't mean anything if they are sub par matchups, which is Haymons specialty.

These Network Deals is great for the Fighters and it makes me excited for the Fighters and the Possibilities of a lot of them become bigger Stars, making more money. With this expose likely will come more Endorsement Deals for individual fighters among so many other things.

I want to see the sport I LOVE reach levels it likely should have reached YEARS AGO but instead many fighters been selfish over the years and just been using the sport for their own financial gain while everybody else seems as if they been left to find their own way which in boxing can be SO DIFFICULT! Now they have at least a "League" to shoot for and to hopefully one day reach!

Ok if so why isn't LSC fighting Rigo? Why is the DSG-peterson fight a non title fight? Why hasn't Stevenson fought kovalev yet?

          • I don't see the quality here, i see Haymon Champs vs Haymon Chumps.

Wait, why is Stevenson fighting Bika, who is a weight class lower and lost to Anthony Dirrell in his last fight? Thats ridiculous. The fights between Bika and Dirrell were horrible and a pain to watch.

Also Campillo again? That poor guy is getting knocked out again.

Then we have Fonfara, well i dont mind Fonfara fighting Chavez jr, but we could have GGG fighting Chavez Jr. instead.

Figueroa against Ricky Burns, wait didnt Burns win only 1 fight out of his last 4?

It seems like all the same fighters are taking rounds fighting each other, Campillo is the sacrificial lamb for everyone, Fonfara lost to Stevenson and may now lose to Chavez jr. Burns lost to Crawford and may now lose to Figueroa. Bika lost to Dirrell and may now lose to Stevenson.

You call that quality? I call it champs vs chumps, maybe not on a Rod Salsa level but still not remotely close to the fights the fans deserve. (Kovalev Stevenson, GGG vs Chavez Jr, LSC vs Rigo etc)

So we have the big Haymon Champs (Stevenson, Figueroa, Chavez jr., Beterbiev) vs the chumps that are supposed to lose: (Bika, Ricky Burns, Fonfara and Campillo)

I dont really see the quality there, well the names might be familiar but in a way that you already know who will win, the only close fight will be Fonfara vs Chavez Jr because lazy Chavez has to fight opponents at his size now.

... there are two Charlo brothers, both of whom are positioned to challenge for world championships at 154.

Spot on. This is nothing to get eexcited about. Just more al haymon specials on multiple channels. I'd rather see pac/Bradley 4 over any of these wack haymon fights.

Casual viewers don't care for boxing. They hardly care for MMA and WWE these days and both are on the downtrend. I see this as a move to flood the market with product and hope for best. IMO, for boxing to change it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up at the amateur level to the pros. If top dollar was spent on development of the youth programs and facilities, it would translate to higher caliber boxers in the pros. Haymon is attempting the trickle down economic model here, and I don't think it is the right move. Boxing on network tv is great and all, but we need to make it a community/neighborhood sport for it to thrive again like we want it too.
If the ratings deliver quality numbers, the networks will pony up the money on the next deal. Live sports programming is one of the only DVR-proof programming left on TV. not that complicated.

We also had them back in the 2000's when Main Events had their Budweiser Boxing cards on NBC a decade ago around the same afternoon time slot as these CBS/PBC cards.

They did alright numbers, but it's not like the changed the sport, and you didn't see a whole lot of networks or promoters follow down that path.

One difference with most sports and MMA/Boxing is the threat of an early ending, like the first UFC on FOX main event that lasted a minute.
