Negative parts of the fight: I fell down once on a slip. Another time, I got my legs crossed up and punched by the opponent at the same time which resulted in a knock down. In the ams this doesn't matter much as the only thing that is scored are punches landed. I got more tired than I should have been, but had more experience than the other guy so it equaled out. I fought a bit dirty on the inside (pushing, locking) at times. I forgot my defense a bit as well as other things that I did better in sparring.

Positive aspects: I landed more punches, and hurt him with a great bodyshot in the 3rd round that caused him to run away. Landed some good lefthooks. The few times I did throw my 3-2 combo they would land well. Good aggression and determination.

One problem is my mouth always bleeds so easily because my gums. It always happens no matter what mouthpiece I use. It affects my stamina due to the blood-swallowing which impedes air and gives cramps. Gotta fix this problem somehow...

Next fight is May 13 in my hometown of Pensacola, so I'm going to have much more time to get ready and will be in great shape.

Also, today is my birthday. Looks like a good week.

....Happy birthday Super!!!! Good job on that win too.

Thanks, man...and we got TO. I guess I'll have to try to be happy about that, and pretend he won't cause any problems.

Drew is going to have a field day.

I'm 148 lbs right now and 8.5% body fat.
yeah man definately crunch yourself down to 140 though, thats nothing a good 5 lbs is water weight drop it before you weigh in and right before you fight like an hour before drink a few large glasses, just make sure you have enough time to have it get into your system without causing cramps, and not having to piss like a race horse during the fight. Nothing worse than a hard body shot when you gotta piss like a mother ****er, I know haha

ACSM recommends you drink 17-20 oz water 2.5-3 hrs before your event, and then another 5-7 oz 25 mins before the event. This method is supposed to be best for avoiding cramps and hydrating properly.

So, I'll weigh in, drink a lot, then drink some more 3 hrs b4 fight and drink teeny bit 25 mins b4 fight. I could weigh in at 141 for the 141 class and by fight time be up to 145-146 or so.

Thing I hate about the ams is the weigh in is same day as fight.

yeah the weigh ins definately suck in the amateurs, I couldnt stand weighing in the night of the fight because I would work my ass off up until the night before then want to rest and rehydrate for the following day but nope you have to wait to rehydrate yourself till the next day when the weigh in is just so you dont accidently come in over what you expected, I did that once and had to fight a guy 6 lbs heavier than me I missed the weight by 2 lbs, luckily I was more experienced and won but **** 6lbs makes a difference when you get hit, you sure do feel it

yeah, and so does the gloves. When you go from 16 oz sparring gloves to 10 oz fighting gloves, that ain't a small matter.
