Floyd is too big of a star to completely drop off the radar... Even if he loses he will still draw eyeballs, though I don't think he will draw huge PPv numbers, he will still be a PPv star but a normal one in the 300k-600k range
True or false: once Floyd loses nobody will want to watch him anymore?

The reason why Floyd is boring to the people who watch him is because the only excitement they get is from thinking there is a possibility he might lose. When he begins to dominate these guys his haters lose interest because that is NOT what they want to see. They want to see him humiliated, not dominating guys.
So his critics just claim the only reason he beats these guys is because they are "inferior" when in fact these guys are solid fighters, just not on Floyd's exceptional level of talent. There is a reason he lands on the highest percentage and takes the least punishment. The guy is just that good. Appreciate greatness while its still here.Comment

Just like most fighetrs that were undefeated, his stock will take a hit.
Tyson and Jones stock took a hit. Not by much but it did.
When Roy Jones lost of Montell Griffin, which was crap because it was by a fluke DQ, his stock took a tiny hit, because most people just loved the thought of him being undefeated on paper**which he wasn't anymore.
When Roy got Ko'd by Tarver, the first non disputable loss, his fan base dropped again.
Tyson had the same thing, alot of fans dropped off after the Douglas loss, and by the 3rd loss to Holyfield it had atlest taken a huge drop, maybe by 20-30%.
Point is, when a fighter is marketed and known for being undefeated, their stock will take that hit, it happens to everybody.Comment

A few people will fall off of the bandwagon but others will jump back on knowing that he took the one true challenge that was out there for him. That 0 doesn't mean all that much in the end. If you sought out, fought, and defeated all perceived challenges out there and retired undefeated, that's another story.Comment

The hate is not because he is undefeated....it's moreso the way he picks his fight. As great a boxer that he is, he is just as good at picking his fights. The only way for Floyd Maywather Jr to get a NON BIAS/HATRED opinion from the fans and media is IF he loses. Plain and simple. MOST people are just sick and tired of seeing Floyd win every single damn time. It's been going on since 1996 and people had have enough. It's not easy to relate to a guy that wins so damn much. It happened to Roy Jones Jr back in the day, people used to sht on him for winning too much. It all changed when Roy took his first L. Jim Lampley even said it on an HBO broadcast...people started liking Roy more after seeing him lose for the first time.
Maybe you don't want to accept it but your most DARK TWISTED FANTASY is to see Floyd coming up as the UNDERDOG for the first time ever in a fight.Comment
