why doesn't this happen in any other situation? do people watch the TV show they hate the most just to see it suck? do people buy McDonald's even though they think it tastses nasty?
Are you seriously trying to compare a beat down of Floyd to McDonald's food?

Yes, there are people that buy Floyd fights, in hopes of them seeing him get beat down. Even I have bought some of his fights, because I thought his opponent had a fighting style that could possibly beat him. A lot of people don't like Floyd because he has a big mouth that is constantly running and people hate him for that. When you couple that with things like, Floyd is a woman beater, yes there are people that will buy the fight, just so they feel like they have a ringside seat when it all comes tumbling down on him.

You really think that is more plausible explanation than Floyd having actually developed a fan base that buys his fights.? You think the bulk of purchases were made by people wanting to see him lose.

That's why I asked does this logic extend into any other area and used McDonalds. I get you may have done that, but I was asking in general.

If people were upset about his domestic violence past, wouldn't they not give him money rather than give it to him hoping to see him lose?

What kind of excuse is that. Didn't tyson do almost 2 mil in that era. And I didn't mention money. We're talking about viewers he's the most watched fighter i doubt he'll ever go down to 300k unless he's like 50 still trying to be on ppv

reality show "fans" wont watch him anymore, by that i mean the people who obsess over the fighters lives while paying minimum attention to their careers. its WWE to them, just rooting for the face to beat the heel without any understanding or appreciation for the actual sport. they just want to see him lose his 0, when he does there will be no point in watching for them.

real fans of the sport itself will still watch, good boxing is good boxing. floyd is better than good, anyone who appreciates good boxing will want to watch him fight undefeated or not.
