Al Haymon has the right to refuse fights. I don't know why people are surprised. Even if LSC doesn't want the fight it STILL needs final approval from Haymon.
Rodriguez has no title or unbeaten record to protect, so to Haymon, he is cannon fodder.
Haymon will put a guy like Edwin in with anybody, as long as the money is right, because Al gets his cut, remember.

I thought it WAS the fighters call who he fights next.say if I'm pro and I want to fight boxer A, Can my promoter stop me.I thought the promoters worked for the fighters. To me this don't make sense. If two fighters want to really fight each other can the promoters stop them? If so then boxing has really turned into a circus.

Fighters have the final say when it comes to who they fight. If Santa Cruz wanted this fight Haymon could not stop it. He doesn't work for Haymon. Who do you think gets the biggest portion of the checks?
There are no two ways about that.

There's also a clause that automatically extends the contract if the fighter goes to a higher level as far as pay scale goes.
Haymon be turnin fighters into ******. He did it in the music industry til Jay Z put the run on him. I'd say Al is the reason Roc Nation went after Broner.
