Mosley turned down a fight with Mayweather in 1999 when they were both undefeated, then in 2006 he wanted to go on "vacation" after his fight with vargas and he clearly wanted no part of Floyd Mayweather, Paul williams was still a contender and he was relatively unknown in 2006-2007 and in 2008 he lost to Carlos Quintana and then fought him again and then moved up in weight shortly after.
There were a couple of fights that could've been made before that though, a fight against Kostya Tzsyu at 140 would've been awesome and joel Casamayor at 135 also. At that time nobody could tell why these fights didn't happen.

Even then, not enough. Manny after December 2012 will be a good win but the critics will say the obvious. It should have happened in 2010 ..... even a year or 2 later but in 2015, its the same as the others that Floyd fought 5 years to late.

That is Floyds trend. Fight a name 5 years too late or those that are still wet behind the ears!

GGG would be a very good win but until GGG fights and beats someone like Ward the critics will say "Who did GGG really beat?"

So in other words, you are saying blame everyone but Floyd.

EXACTLY!!! and its did its job, to put him in the conversation, if he gets the Lineal Middleweight championship he has an argument, if he beats pac, so what? He's not doing anything any other boxer hasn't already done. The same people that claim pac is more than he is are not gonna change their opinion of Mayweather no matter what he does, so why try to entertain or play to people that are gonna hate you regardless. :****you:

If he beats Pacquiao, Khan and Golovkin then he's gotta be considered. I'd forgive him for all the ducking if he beat those 3.

                  Instead we got
                  retirement
                  bloated Marquez
16 month layoff 38 year old Mosley
                  Ortiz
                  Guerrero
                  weight drained Canelo
                  Maidana 2x.

he needs to go further and beat Kostya and Casamayor to boot

                      Beat Manny convincingly

Rematch Cotto for 160lb title (If he wins 3 titles in 3 weight classes at the same time, how many fighters can say they did that?)

50-0 win 1 more fight and retire, leave while people still remember you at your best.

Become a trainer (a build up the next champ)

Guys like Robinson and Armstrong have so many fights so there really isn't much Floyd could do to pass them.
