Floyd's record falls so far short of the guys who really are in the conversation for GOAT that there's no point even bringing it up.

Look at Leonard's record from '79 to '81, then look at Floyd's, now back at Leonard's.

And Leonard isn't even regarded as the best welterweight ever.

Self service really. Manny was awarded fighter of the decade and Floyd awarded himself TBE in return.

It all comes down to a giant p***ing contest at the end of the day.

Floyd is already one of the best ever. He is at the very least in the top 10 of all time, possibly top 5.

He is without doubt the best defensive fighter ever

If he beat Pacquiao it wouldn't really do much to improve his legacy. Pacquiao has already been knocked out by 3 other men. That's been done before.

Go back in a time machine and beat Cotto, Williams, Margarito and Shane in the years 2008 to 2009. Beat Manny in 2010 and beat Martinez in 2011.

          Instead we got
          retirement
          bloated Marquez
16 month layoff 38 year old Mosley
          Ortiz
          Guerrero
          weight drained Canelo
          Maidana 2x.

            TBE??
You can't have it all in life. You cant duck and cheat as much as he did for profit and still be an all time great boxing champion.
Agreed, he's smart as hell, I dont like his boxing style much but he is an A level fighter, that much is true. When it comes to doing business, that's where he's truly great. He built up his own image so that people think he's some kind of all time great boxer, but in reality "Money" is simply another skilled boxer with a fantastic eye for business, hence the "Money" name. Picking fights at the right moment, with the right opponent, and only fighting under his conditions with a ref. and judges that will benefit him. "Money" only cares about making money.
But that's not what makes a great boxer. A great boxer fights great battles and that means not ducking and not cheating, which Floyd does both of.
Not only is he not among the great boxers of his generation, he's shouldnt even be compared to true warriors that have made the sacrifice, that left everything in the ring and in the end had nothing to show for it.
If he hadnt adopted this business strategy, he would probably be yet among the best boxing champions of his generation, that had a few good years in which they were at the top of the game, and then started having losses as father time catches up with them or lady fortune parted ways with them. But Floyd hasnt done that, so he doesnt deserve a place among the best champions of his generation like Marquez or Pacquiao.
If you cant see this for yourself, if you dont understand the lie that Floyd "Money" Mayweather is, then you dont know much about boxing. Its as simple as that.

Pretty much. Take those fights, win them, heck, even lose a couple, then youre truly great. Fight Chino like a real man, maybe win by a close SD, maybe even lose by KO, but dont cheat your way into yet another worthless victory.

Theres really nothing he can do to touch the resumes of guys like Leonard, Duran and Robinson. Partly because of the way the sport is these days but also because he's a fcking cherry picker.

If he beats Pac, and then moved up and beat GGG, he'd probably crack top 20 all time. Maybe. Its a very subjective topic.

Even Floyd fans who know boxing history wouldn't say that. Most of them put him top 20-25 and that's with a favorable slant.

He is without doubt the best defensive fighter ever.
Probably one of them, but it's not that long since Pernell Whitaker was on top and he's one of them too.

If he beat Pacquiao it wouldn't really do much to improve his legacy. Pacquiao has already been knocked out by 3 other men. That's been done before.

Yep. There's literally nothing and no one he could've fought to have been considered TBE.
