    3. Vitali took the fight on short notice as Kirk Johnson dropped out though Vitali was already training to fight someone else.
    4. Lewis ducked the rematch not only once towards the end of the year but again after Klitschko became his mandatory.
    5. It was nothing that Chris Byrd was doing. Vitali was dominating but had a torn rotator cuff.
Vitali would give Lewis trouble in any era. To me both are great fighters and a very even fight and was proven for the 6 rounds they fought together. Give credit where credit is due but obviously you are biased towards one fighter.
Those facts are old and out of date. Do you still drive a **** car from 2003? I drive a 2014 luxury sedan.

3-If the doctors didn't stop that fight, Vitali would have lost an eye and become disfigured.
4-Vitali quit against former SMW Chris Byrd
5-Lewis have 10 times the resume Vitali does and dominates Vitali physically, mentally, and sexually.
6-Prime Shannon Briggs was knocked down multiple times and knocked out by Lewis. Old shot drugged out Shannon Briggs went 12 against Vitali.
7-Vitali breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the fight ended but after being urged by his trainer, he suddenly became 'angry' and pretended that he wanted to fight on.
8-Prime Lewis tko any version of Vitali. Lennox Lewis would have dominated in any era.
9-Vitali was knocked out cold by Pele Reid and than lied about it.
10-Vitali was also caught by the Olympic Committee for trying to use steroids against 16 year old kids.
    11-TKO6

wlad hit much harder. I think he would have did what lewis did and stopped him on cuts. if vitali were to stop wlad it wouldnt be till late after wearing him down. vitali was never a big puncher like wlad. tough fight for both but im one of the few that would favor wlad to win

You can tell Wlad loves his big bro. I remember all the **** David Haye said Wlad didn't bat an eyelash until he said something about Vitali. Wlad got really scary looking then lol. Personally I lean towards Wlad he just has a style at the moment that is incredibly difficult to beat but they are brothers and they know each other better than anyone else so who knows.

Cuts wouldn't be caused IMO because the fight would not be a rough brawl with inside fighting like it was v Lennox. Vitali would be the hardest puncher Wlad ever faced, most likely.

sanders and brewster were bigger one punch guys than vitali. vitali would just club you into submission with accumalation. the problem with that is wlad is very difficult to hit with more than one punch at a time so without that big one punch power hes very difficult to beat now that he doesnt punch himself out anymore. wlad on the other hand can put your lights out with one clean shot and he would believe it or not be the biggest 2 fisted puncher vitali ever faced

Vitali would win because he knows all of Wlad's tricks and weaknesses. As Wlad's brother, he probably knows more about Wlad than any other boxer alive.

This would come down to who is stronger and tougher, and that's Vitali. If he really wanted to beat Wlad up, he could do it.

              Vitali by KO/TKO

I watched that fight live and many times since.

At the time I was always confident that Lennox was going to win, even when Vitali appeared to be in control, because I'd seen Lennox go the distance many times and I didn't know back then how much stamina and determination Vitali had. That only became evident later in his career.

I see the fight differently when I watch it now, and I believe that if the cuts hadn't happened Vitali would have won on points. But he must have known that he could not go 12 rounds with such bad eye damage and went balls out for the KO. That was when Lennox began catching him with hard punches as he came in, including the uppercut which landed right on the button and buckled Vitali's legs.

Lennox was definitely past his best when they fought but Vitali had not yet reached his peak. He learned a lot from his two defeats and became a better fighter as a result.

I really cannot say who would have won if they had met when both were in their prime, so I think of it as a 50/50 fight. Depending on how the cookie crumbled on the night, either man would have been capable of beating the other.

thats pretty much the way ive always seen it as well. they would have always been tough fights for each other and could see it going either way. think vitali would have won a rematch tho becuz like you said lewis was a bit past his best and lost his desire

Sanders, possibly. Brewster, no way IMO was he more powerful than Vit. Regarding the Wlad being difficult to hit point, depends what version of Wlad we talk about. For the sake of argument let's say 2011 Wlad v 2004 Vitali. Wlad has never fought someone who is bigger than him, possibly physically stronger, with an iron chin. Wlad would have to be cautious and it would be a slow paced fight but I think Vitali would force the action and not allow clinching which would tire out Wlad and he would get stopped late.
