Both are classy stand-up guys, of course they will act humble in front of the media, but deep down inside I bet they are curious who would win between them. There's brotherly love and there's brotherly rivalry. Hell, I wouldn't want to beat up my older brother (unless he REALLY pissed me off) but I AM curious how we would match up in the ring. It would just be hard to go all out, I'd probably take it easy and pull a lot of punches..

Are you and your brother 6ft 7, 250lb monsters with a punch that could kill most men on earth in either fist, though? Imagine one of the brothers knocked the other out and gave him brain damage or worse...and then try to explain that to your mother (after you gave a promise). There is life after boxing!

Good point, but like I said it would be hard to go all out on your own brother. It would probably be more like a sparring match without any monster power punches. I definitely would NOT want to do any permanent damage, that's for sure.

Yeah, but if it would be a half-assed fight with no real aggression, people would bash the brothers for making a fight to get their 100million payday and be called frauds for not giving the public a real fight. It was the right thing to do to avoid it. If the two weren't related though, amazing potential fight.

True. I agree with you completely. My only point was that no matter what they say, deep down inside they are probably at least curious how they would match up against each other, that's all.

Agreed. I mean that is just the instincts of a fighter. I'm sure they both feel they are the baddest man on the planet and could beat anyone (each other included). What WOULD have been very interesting is if their mother did not urge them to make that promise to her that they would never fight.

Watch the Klitschko film documentary if you haven't before, there's a very interesting part where Wlad speaks of how he argued with Vitali after the Brewster fight I believe when Vitali basically told him to retire and Wlad didn't want him to keep bashing him and told him to not attend his training camp. Maybe then a fight could have materialised with the right finances and with the blessings from everyone.

Yeah those are all tremendous points to observe here.

They are gigantic and immensely powerful HW's who can do really SERIOUS damage to the other, not high on the families wish list for their lads, or for each other.

And sure, any fight imagined between the 2 would most certainly be farcial with many pulled punches and the brothers would be accused of staging or going easy anyway.

The 2-headed dragon style HW champion thing never really bothered me so much anyway.

The situation now with a factional split HW title is a FAR worse and potentially hurtful situation.

I would have to agree with Wlad Klit. His brother had a pretty solid chin, took what Lewis had at that stage, which is more than could be said for Wlad even though he's technically better........

But in that particular fight, I think Vitali's awkward and somewhat crude style would win it out with the toughness edge heavily in his favor. He'd probably eat some jabs for 3-4 rounds, maybe catch a RH or two, but eventually he'd be able to get past the stiff-arm and the first solid RH to Wlad and he's out........

I would have preferred Vitali had not retired so he'd have been the 'Lineal' rather than Wlad........he took care of anything remotely dangerous and somewhat protected his little brother.........And I believe he may have beaten Lewis if not for the awful cut.....Lewis knew it too, which is why he retired.

Not saying he was better than Lewis, just younger at that point. Lewis did the smart thing. But Vitali would have retired as Lineal, never being KO'd by a punch........only the loss to Lewis by cut and the shoulder injury quit which was sort of a fluke given he had given Byrd a pretty serious ass-kicking and could have finished with one hand.

But I remember reading an article where he didn't realize how badly retiring from injury had hurt his image and never did it again.........I don't recall him ever being seriously hurt.

Wlad has done well to manage the garbage division.......but Vitali would have done no worse, probably even more dominant with less of the BS stiff-arm, push down on the neck, etc.

Vitali should be the more celebrated fighter.........just my opinion. I could at least tolerate his fights.....can't watch Wlad....

They should've phucked with King a bit, made him think they'd sign.
