One could logically argue that Joe may have an advantage over Ward in a head to head matchup( although I would disagree)...but to say Calzaghes resume is equal to or surpasses that of Andre Ward would be lacking in both reason & merit...
Ward's best win is Chad Raisin?

Ward's best win is what? Kessler? A guy who Calzaghe undressed and outclassed years earlier. Or Froch who fought on fairly even terms with Kessler over 24 rounds.

Calzaghe also went up and captured the Light Heavyweight Title. Something Ward has yet to do.
calzaghe's 7-5 win over kessler is outclassing? a fight that if it was in denmark kessler almost surely wins. many people had froch beating kessler 7-5 in the first fight but it was in denmark. you pretend they are on 2 different levels but they aren't. Both were competitive fights. calzaghe fought on even terms with robin reid so are they on the same level? you are still trying to prove calzaghe is better through triangle warfare and you seem to be implying kessler is better than froch when that is ridiculous(dwyer accent). Ward beat froch and kessler. 2 top guys. Calzaghe really didn't fight 2 legit top guys besides hopkins and kessler and hopkins was a robbery. He beat more crap fighters so I guess that's something.

Ward has the better resume, but Calzaghe had the better career.

that makes no sense. sugar ray leonard has the better resume, but eric crumble had the better career. I'm assuming by better career you mean razzle dazzle. title defenses, fame, hype, money etc...but i when i compare careers I look at who they beat and ward beat better fighters. who cares about all the other stuff?

            Calzaghe at the moment obviously.

but honestly it will be written in stone soon, I dont see ward taking on the real challengers anytime soon (as he proved ducking bute, and chosing the rodriquez of the sport) and I dont see him moving up capturing another title.

Yes Froch is a hall of famer but he doesn't have a better resume than Ward.

Ward is a better commentator, but that's it.

Calz > ward by a wide margin.

It's close to be honest but Ward has a win over Froch himself and beat Kessler before Froch which gives him the edge imo.

whoa, I'm pleasantly surprised by the voting, then again, maybe the Americans haven't seen this yet lol

Fact is, Calzaghe was champion from 97 till the end of his career in 2008, that's 11 years of championship wins, defences, unifications and some good names on the resume:

                      Kessler
                      Hopkins
Bika (when he used to be a threat)
Lacy (going to KO Joe Calzaghe)

And a whole host of contenders.
