Lucas couldn't even outbox Danny, no disrespect to Danny but he is no Manny. This would be a lop sided victory for Pac. Lucas' boxing is so damn bad and power isn't going to win him the big fights. The hype for Lucas on these boards after he finished off Peterson was ridiculous but has now slowed down for some odd reason. Lucas' hype period reminds me of the GGG hype at the moment. Only a matter of time.

Is Mathysse a good enough counter puncher to make a fight with Pacquiao interesting?

People saying its a bad match up for Lucas. I disagree. He always starts fights boxing off the back foot. I think he could lure Pac in. His power and underrated skill give him a decent shot at winning. better shot then his last 2 opponents by far.

Would be very interesting however still have Manny winning with his agility and boxing finesse. Would be a great win. Lucas just needs to get his stock back up and maybe gaining a title on paper would be the answer. It's unfortunate because he deserves these high dollar fights but he keeps getting the shaft. He should have Lamonts title, pretty sure he got robbed with Judah, should get a Broner fight. It makes me sick with Haymons side acting all pretentious and as though there is no politics concerning there business agenda. But there sure as hell is. Especially when one guy (Lucas) will fight any of your top guys or champs and they would rather fight lesser guys.

It's an interesting match-up. I don't think anyone can really let their hands go against Matthysse without getting lit up themselves, not even Pac.
I'm not sure it would be the exciting fire fight people suggest, because Matthysse would find it too difficult to initiate exchanges on his terms. His volume drops off significantly against guys who can counterpunch effectively.
Their volume drops off significantly too and he normally gets the better of things, but I don't think he could win low volume rounds against Pac when the judges weren't giving them to him against Zab and Devon. He would spend a lot of time looking at Manny while Manny potshots and turns him.
Where it has potential is Manny's natural instinct to take chances, and as weebler says to throw back when he's caught.
But Manny looks to be a lot more calculating in the ring these days. Against a dangerously heavy handed guy like Matthysse is he going to go to war if he can avoid it? Probably not, and I don't think Lucas could force him to.
