The Final Word on Wladmir Klitschko

How does Wladmir rank among the all-time great heavyweights?

    1. Muhammad Ali
    2. Joe Louis
    3. Larry Holmes
    4. Jack Johnson
    5. George Foreman
    6. Sonny Liston
    7. Jack Dempsey
    8. Rocky Marciano
    9. Mike Tyson (prime)
    10. Joe Frazier
    11. Lennox Lewis
    12. Gene Tunney
    13. Jersey Joe Walcott
    14. Floyd Patterson
    15. Evander Holyfield
    16. Rid**** Bowe
    17. Earnie Shavers
    18. Vitali Klitschko
    19. Max Baer
    20. Wladmir Klischko

Why is Wladmir officially ranked so low?

He fought no one. There is no question that the heavyweight division in which he reigned was the absolute WORST in boxing history, with fighters who wouldn't even qualify as sparring partners for Ken Norton and Ingemar Johannson.

He has been much bigger than the pygmies that he has fought yet still can't look good against them.

    He has zero chin.

    He is slow.

Why is Wladmir very unpopular and can't even get PPV in the United States, a nation that has a very long tradition of great (Robinson, Armstrong, Leonard, Tyson, Pep, etc.) and high caliber boxing?

    He is boring.

Boring in personality (like a real Frankenstein)

Boring in style (like Mayweather but at least Floyd knows how to promote himself outside the ring as a "heel")

Just basically no charisma from Wladmir

If you have any questions about Wladmir, I'll be here to answer them.

Wladimir Klitschko is #2 behind Lennox Lewis.

All these old boxers like Ali who only beat Americans were only champion because the Soviets weren't allowed to turn pro. Since they were allowed to turn pro they have taken over the sport, coincidence? Not really.

Despite being relatively small, Patterson was able to produce great results because of his dazzling speed.

Shavers has the distinction of being the strongest puncher in heavyweight history, or close to it.

Baer and Wladmir would actually be close but with Baer having killed someone with his right hand and Wladmir getting KTFO's by that South African golfer, Baer would have the edge.

Ali beat Soviets left and right as an amateur. The Soviet style of fighting was too basic and wouldn't translate well in the pro ranks. The Soviets practiced point scoring boxing, not real boxing.

Which great results? Which results compares to defending your titles 15+ times?

Yes shavers was a strong puncher. Wlad still has better KO wins than Shavers has.

Where were the soviets in the amateurs? Just like today America isn't producing any Olympians and hence and downfall in their standard of boxing. To top that off many great European amateurs arean't turning pro and has led to a downfall in quality from all over.

15 times against NFL football and NBA basketball rejects, as well as Eastern European midgets, and a cruiserweight named Haye.

Tell that to the Klitschko's, Golovkin and Kovalev who have all the American boxers shaking in their boots. Wilder literally waited until Vitali retired before even thinking about challenging for the title.

Wladimir has defended the title for 9 years+ in dominant fashion against people from all over the world, a true world champion.

Muhammad Ali only held it for 3 years and most of his fights were constant rematches against Americans.
