The point is that he already did what Calzaghe didn't do.

Froch wasn't really a big deal then, people thought he was domestic level. It's actually quite astounding to see how his career has turned out. I distinctly remember people saying he didn't have the skills to compete at top level.

      And here we are..
I agree, but Froch couldn't shut up about it and now look at what he is doing, which is quite similar.

p.s. I think Froch's resume is better than Calzaghe.

I don't think so, I think it's worse than Mayweather-Khan. Where I just don't see Mayweather getting excited for a Khan fight, cause Khan doesn't have any recent big wins that make fans go crazy, Alexander doesn't cut it. DeGale is the same concept but even worse, he has no recent or past wins that can get Froch up for him. Chavez Jr at least brings money and fame. Hopkins is a big name, although 50 years old and clearly past it, it's a legendary name that Froch can get up for. I'm sure Froch would fight GGG as well, GGG is a guy that fans think he's a monster who could KO Froch, Kessler, Groves, Dirrell, so i'm sure Froch can get up for him. Just don't see any money guy fight DeGale until DeGale gets a few more big wins. And I like DeGale, he's a good boxer and makes for good interviews from what I have seen.

          No he didn't.

Calzaghe was in the twilight of his career and refused to fight Froch. Froch is now in the exactly same position with DeGale. Froch was not in the same position when he faced Groves and he didn’t give Groves anything. Groves was mandatory, he earned it.

What? It was exactly the same. Froch was mandatory to Calzaghe the same way Groves was mandatory to Froch.

Btw I am not saying there was anything wrong with what Calzaghe did. It was absolutely the right decision but Froch has already done what he didn't do.

Froch-Groves and Calzaghe-Froch are literally the exact same scenario.

              Literally.

Like Dirk said, Froch has already done what Calzaghe wouldn't do.

When does it end? Does Froch have to keep fighting his mandatories until he's dead? He's already fought Groves? Degales next, Callum Smith after that.

Froch was Calzaghe's mandatory and he turned it down, Groves was Froch's mandatory and be accepted.

Which is exactly what Calzaghe did when Froch was his mandatory.

Degale is clearly deluded if he really believes Froch ducked him.

Froch deserves a much bigger swansong than 'Chunky and the Chunkettes' at the O2 or similar.

This time last year Degale was fighting in a leisure center sports hall.

Funny thing about Degale is that he slaps more than Calzaghe...

Froch would make Defails face even more flatter...

I wouldn't call it a dunk, Froch has been quite clear he wants one more (last?) big pay day and then wants to call it quits, although he has never ruled out a future meeting with DeGale. I'm just happy he's vacated and hasn't held the title hostage.

However, what I'm more disappointed about is Chavez as the most likely next opponent, I feel like it is a waste of a Vegas payday/date. I'd prefer Froch v GGG/Hopkins.
