Taking everything into consideration, I think Tyson had the better career. If i had to choose between the two, I'm taking Tyson's.

On my all time top 50: http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=608842 which may well change this year as I'm in the process of editing it, I have Iron Mike at 45 and RJJ at 46. There's not much between them, Jones had more championships but Tyson was a heavyweight and he couldn't move up anywhere from there. Tyson, in his prime, was better than Jones in his prime and made mince meat of guys that tested most other heavies. Jones prime however was longer but he never had the big marquee fights that Tyson managed, plus, being undisputed heavyweight champion, especially at 21, still means something. It's the biggest prize in sport.

Jones beat both Hopkins and Toney. In fact he dominated them. The only fighter on that level Tyson fought while still young was Holyfield and he lost both times. In one of those fights he comply self destructed.

In addition to that, he was totally dominated by Buster Douglas. That would have never happened to a young Roy Jones jr.

James Toney-Jones jr was a marqee fight. So you're completely wrong there and about a lot of other things.

Clearly Roy. He was better, beat better fighters, and accomplished more.

Tyson is absurdly overrated. The guy could fight, but the way he's remembered is so far beyond what he actually did in the ring. The hype machine really helped him.
