Everyone (almost) loves the puncher but Jones had the more adaptable style for longevity. I do think there's something to the theory that Jones lost a lot by gaining the weight and going back down to lightheavyweight although I fault him for moving to his right with southpaws too often.

Once Jones loses some speed I think his chin betrays him though. I'm still picking Bob Foster over him in the lightheavyweight dream matches.....I wouldn't see him standing up under that left hook if he ever caught it at any point in his career.

If you look at his body as he aged, it broke down and changed, physically. He was quite chunky/muscular in his prime and I think it was because he was juicing.
Maybe because he was 35 moving up in weight solid muscle to fight at HW. Then dropping back down in six months to fight Tarver at LHW which ruined him. Even the guy that helped Roy bulked up Mackie Shilstone said it himself that Roy should of stayed at HW. Losing all that weight in a short period time destroys your immune system.

And you can see from this documentary how hard Roy worked to get to this point.

This is the documentary that was made when Jones was P4P King moving up to HW to face John Ruiz. Jones trained to hard to bulk up with Mackie Shilstone. The same trainer that helped bulk up Michael Spinks to fight at HW.

•Jones was getting smashed by his HW sparring partner when he first started sparring.
•Jones was really 200lbs at the initial weigh-in but the Dr. messed up and weighed him in 193. Come fight night RJJ was 199lbs when he was re-weighed.
•RJJ being the first man in 100 years to win titles from MW to HW.
•RJJ speaking about his Dad beating him and saying how he didn't have a childhood.
•Ron Borges prediction was so off man lol.
•He made history but he also ruined himself moving back down in weight in that short time frame at that age.

All in all he still is one of the GOATs in my eyes since there is only a few guys that did what he did.

I would go with roy. He did what Tyson did in multiple weight classes. Tyson was the bigger star because people generally care more about heavyweights

Jones jr.- started at 154 won titles all the way up to heavyweight. Roy was the first and likely only guy who will ever say they started their career at 154 and won a heavyweight strap.

He beat 2 ATGs in their prime clearly. something floyd ,calzaghe and lennox never Did.

roy was undefeated for 15 years from 154 to heavy.

roy is a top 10 light heavyweight and top 5 super middleweight.

              Tyson -youngest heavyweight champ ever.

Regarded by Ali as the baddest man on the planet .

most money ever made in boxing Beside holyfield who needed tyson to even compete with that title.

Tyson for sure. The reason why I say that is because, lets say you go stand in front of one of your local stores (grocery store or whatever) and you ask everyone that comes in, if they know who Roy Jones Jr. is, you will find a huge percentage of people will have no idea who he is. If you ask those same people who Mike Tyson is, there will be a high percentage of people that know who he is.
