Let's wait for Haymon's next move now...
he already did, dropping quillin's title, although it's wbo

The proliferation of world titles has damaged the sport in so many ways. If this comes to fruition though, watch a number of 'world champions' suddenly start holding the WBO strap in high esteem and vacating their titles for a shot at that one.

all this will do is make an extra belt, like ring magazine
all it will mean is have a super wba, ibf, wbc champ
with the regular belts still active

Whatever happens it's still better than actively preventing unification fights.

            Not at all..

The Ring "lineal" belt would significantly decrease in relevance as long as "the unified world champ" would result from a WBC, WBA or IBF world titlist...

people forget though things weren't so great when there was 1 belt. If you where to good you could end up waiting 5-6 years for a title shot.

One belt per division is needed. Call it the WBACF or what the f*** over you want to call it. Just one belt per division.

While we're add it how about losing some divisions. Do we really need so many?

Drop all the belts and just go with a global ranking system from the media and experts.
