If they do it the right way than great for boxing. One champ eliminates a lot of the political bs if that champ is forced to defend the belt against the top contenders. The paranoid fan in me says boxing always has hidden agendas.

But it will make it much more difficult to avoid fighters.

there would be so much less confusion over who is the rightful champ and who is the rightful challenger.

More importantly it would stop people winning bull**** paper titles and milking them in their own country. A fighter wouldn't be able.to pick up a paper title and theN market themselves as a world champ (I'm looking at you Scott Quigg). You want to market yourself as a world champ? You gotta fight the best. Gonna be awesome

This is a great thing that the WBC/WBA/IBF are doing. But for the good of boxing the WBO needs to jump on board too.

I don't see why they won't get off their ass and join in.

Yeah it only makes sense if the champ is constantly forced to face the mandatory and the rankings are legit.

with the regular belts still active
That's my biggest fear as well. The WBC and IBF just adding regular titles.

So instead of there being one title, they are just creating more titles.
