**** yeah Makabu vs Mchunu set for May 16th!

Durban, South Africa: Main Events, in conjunction with Ludonga Promotions, will be hosting the WBC World Title Eliminator in Thabiso "The Rock "Mchunu's native Durban, South Africa, at the ICC Centre, against a very worthy opponent in who many say is Africa's finest cruiserweight "Junior" Makabu on May 16. The two have been on a collision course ever since Mchunu won the Super 8 in devastating fashion destroying anyone in his way. That performance earned him a shot at the No. 1 ranked American Eddie Chambers whom he beat convincingly in his American TV debut. He has gone on to be the first African cruiserweight to win the NABF Title and has his eyes firmly set on the WBC World Title later in the year in Russia. This fight has been the talk of many a debate with both camps believing both Mchunu and Makabu could walk through current WBC Champion Grigory Drozd.

Cheers Freedom! Love the way Usyk mixes up his power and utilises angles. He moves so well for a big CW.

Also love the fact he looks like a damn psycho.

Usyk is a massive talent, definitely a potential top 5-10 P4P fighter. The guy has got serious skill.

The Russian got beat down. However, I think Usyk still lacks real one-punch knockout power, and works more through combinations, skill and movement. Saying that, it is hard to judge compared to others as his starting competition has been half decent, and not complete bums who could be knocked out in a round or 2. With more power though arguably Usyk would be the perfect fighter.

Looking forward to Usyk cleaning out the division at cruiser and moving up to heavyweight. That's far into the future and all bold claims at this point, but he definitely has the potential.

Agree on his power but he is fresh out the amateurs and still not sitting down on his punches.

Maybe in time, right now, not a chance.

Yeah man that's the thing...he sort of seems to be punching like he wants to score points - quick combinations and such, but you can see he isn't putting everything into his punches. When he does commit, you can visibly see that. The thing is, he is a constantly moving fighter so it is difficult for him to just stop and sit down on those shots to land power combinations. Hopefully in time he will become a bit more in control of his power, because he can certainly get people out of there earlier, and in more exciting fashion. He exhibits skill, but it's not always exciting when it drags on.

On May 22, Kudryashov will fight Vikapita Meroro, a tough Namibian who has never been stopped.

On that Moscow card, Chakhkiev will face Mirko Larghetti who likewise has never failed to go the distance and has only the one loss to Marco Huck.

Cheers Freedom, I don't know anything about Vikapita but remember checking out Larghetti prior to him fighting Huck and of course seeing that fight which was very close. He is a decent boxer. Excellent opponent for Rakhim. I think Larghetti will give him a stiff test.
