According to Alina Shaternikova, formerly a championship boxer and presently the vice-president of National Boxing Federation of Ukraine, one of the two state’s top cruiserweight stars Dmytro Kucher (22-1, 16 KOs) was set as a mandatory for Russian Rakhim Chakhkiev (21-1, 16 KOs).

Denis Lebedev is supposed to defend his title against Youri Kalenga. This should be a war and a potential fight of the year. I really hope this fight happens.

Denis Lebedev is currently penciled in for a March 21 cruiserweight title defense against an opponent to be determined in Moscow, Russia. Unless his handlers convince the World Boxing Association (WBA) otherwise, that opponent will be Youri Kalenga. The WBA ordered a 30-day period for the two sides to begin negotiations, with a purse bid hearing set for February 20 in the event a deal cannot be reached. “We have communicated with both fighters and their respective teams,” confirmed WBA spokesperson Hilmar Rojas. “[F]rom this moment begins the 30-day negotiation period. Lebedev and Kalenga will have until February 20, 2015 to reach an agreement. Otherwise, in accordance with the rules, a purse bid hearing will be held to determine the date and venue of the mandatory (title) fight.”

I hope so, Hucks had too many debatable decisions for my liking. I can't wait for someone to free up that belt.

Doubt it but I hope they put Rakhim vs Kucher on the same bill, sounds too much like common sense.
Be awesome if they put the winners together and even the losers. So many good fights that could be made at cruiser.
