        .

either way has Mayweather not fought or defeated better fighters than Margarito?

he made up for missing that fight beating better guys after 06-07 when the fight was proposed. won 2 more lineal titles....a margo win doesn't do as much for your legacy as winning 2 more lineal titles against stars in the sport...Mosely and Canelo

A margarito or pwill win in that era seriously becomes the best win of his career.

            I disagree

He has beaten more proven fighters than both before and after 06-07

i'm pretty sure the point is floyd picks and chooses which styles he wants to fight while avoiding others. that's what damaged his legacy, not whether or not one particular guy would add a lot to his resume. he won't fight a guy like margarito or pac because of his style but he will fight a guy who is considered better overall than margarito but with an easier style for him or a guy that beat pac because its an easier style for him. is that the point of boxing? to seek out styles that work best for you and avoid the ones that don't? the phrase take on all comers doesn't seem to apply to floyd. it's take on some comers if you fit the right requirements oh yea and wear these pillow gloves so you don't hurt me.

So you're saying that Mayweather's resume wouldn't be any better if he fought & defeated any one of those 4? (Excluding Pacquiao, including Cotto)

It's not the same because Floyd has pillow hands so he evened the score. Plus he did it openly . Also, maidana and his team chose to take extra money to wear them. They could have stood firm on the mx gloves the commision approved.

I cant remember the last time floyd fought some one with height reach advantage on him in their prime. His most memorable wins have been against either smaller albeit heavier opponents or past due fighters and his 2 best wins to me Corrales and canelo have that cloud of making the weight. Which isnt floyds fault if they agreed to the terms.

maidana glovegate. Been schooled by boxers

Neither listed were at any point considered boogeymen. Nobody was jumping out of their way to fight em. Pwill and margs had the division shook

And Floyd could had called Amir and he would be in the ring in under 5 minutes ready to fight Floyd with Sockem Boppems on his hands.
