Very ballsy of DLH to make this fight, putting his cash cow in with one of the most vicious brawlers in the sport. The Mayweather loss didnt hurt Canelo's brand at all. Canelo just got a boxing lesson. But you can make a case that Kirkland ended Angulo's career as a serious contender with a vicious beating, and may have beaten any future prospects out of Glen Tapia.

Kirkland may take a fight off against an Ishida or Molina, but this is the kind of prime time event that he'll show up for. They may have a way out, such as Canelo being the mover, or a ref that doesn't allow inside mauling. But this is a very risky move.

Fight is only happening cause the diva didn't step up. So he had to find another challenge. I would bet Cotto wouldn't have the balls to fight Kirkland

Canelo is going to stop him in 3 rounds or less.

He has fought way better opposition than Kirkland, why will be be scared of him? Beyond normal logic.

Another cherry pick by Canelo with an inactive fighter, who recently (before the Tapia fight) had traumatic shoulder injury and two years inactivity.

I assume this will be another fight at Canelo's favorite weight of 155.....lol!!

How long was Martinez out before he fought Cotto?

                    Cotto stans exposing their hypocrisy.

There are certainly better fighters he could fight, he should have stayed at the table with Cotto for a start! And now that you've highlighted Kirkland's inactivity and injury im less excited for the fight but they should still gel well for an enjoyable scrap

Think we will see Cotto vs Floyd 2?
