Nope, it all boils down to his lack of confidence in facing Pac. Arum is just his ticket to ducksville.

If it was arum, why negotiate in the first place?

Negotiations shouldn't have happened from the very start, but it did. That's a fact. Allot of well know websites have said there was negotiations.
