Not going to bother with your whole post, but I always laugh when I hear he robbed Trout. I understand Lara, fight could have gone either way depending on scoring (especially with rounds with low activity, do you give it to the guy looking pretty or the one chasing), but Trout? Trout didn't do **** that whole fight, threw almost nothing beyond weak jabs, and the knockdown should have secured the fight almost completely. Canelo was also making him miss quite a lot, and countering with much harder shots. Even if you think the fight was close, it is far away from a robbery.
I think Canelo beat Trout, but let's be honest open scoring didn't help Trout at all.
Canelo made him miss yes, but he didn't fire a thing back when he did make Trout miss.
Now Canelo is fighting in his own special weight class, 155. He doesn't even have the cajones to say "I'm fighting at middleweight"
Canelo is groomed to be the next face of Boxing after Mayweather and Pacquiao are gone. But the truth is he has done nothing to earn that spot.
Lately he's been fighting these catch weights fights because he can't make 154 and he's scared to move up to 160. Of course he will love to fight Cotto a small middleweight that has no business in with a true Middleweight. Cotto makes the red princess wait and Canelo decides to fight Kirkland a fighter that he was supposed to fight years ago. Instead we got to see Canelo beat up on a 140lb Josesito Lopez.
GGG-Canelo will be the next Mayweather-Pacquiao. The fans will want but I have a feel De La Hoya doesn't want his golden goose cooked so I expect Canelo to fight the following....
May 2015 - inactive Kirkland
September 2015 - small Maidana
May 2016 - a retired Cotto
September 2016 - Rubio why not
You can criticize him for many but not for his choice of opponents, he has a pretty good resume for someone his age and has fought every guy that people said he wouldn't fight. He has wanted Cotto for a while, when he lost to Trout, he fought him instead, Kirkland didn't want to fight him, and Lopez beat Ortiz who was supposed to be his original opponent. Oscar may want to protect him in the future, but we will just have to wait and see.
I agree about the catchweights though, mother****er needs to move up, or make 154.
but he is still young, maybe the years can upgrade his technique
I think he's much better than average. I mean, to beat guys like Trout, and Lara, you gotta be well above average.
He's not the next Oscar DLH or anything, but he definitely is a world class level boxer/puncher.
His defensive showing against Trout was really impressive.
He doesn't do any one thng GREAT, but he does everything good.
His only weakness is his stamina.
But how many boxers at 154 beat him? Aside from Mayweather, I don't thnk anybody can. He already beat the next best guy in Lara. I think he beats down Cotto too.
Jabs still counts. Canelo was missing all night against Trout, a knockdown can't make up for all those lost rounds. I'm not saying Trout fought an entertaining fight, but you don't have to be entertaining to win, Trout won clearly.
And Trout wasn't missing at times? The only thing that is clear is that you are biased, hell if he did win it definitely wasn't clear.

Who else is left in his division? Lol he already beat the best challenger in Lara.
You telling me Kirkland wouldn't be a great fight? That fght has FOTY written all over it.
Why do you think the Cotto fight fell through? LOL Roach ain't no idiot - he knows Canelo would pummel Cotto.
Most likely he fights Kirkland next, and then tries for a Cotto showdown agan this fall.
Lol you're defending Cotto, but talking **** about Canelo... The IRONY.

Hahah mate... Did you even watch that fight? Canelo made Trout look foolish, and silly he dodged so many punches.
Trout landed at a paltry connect-percentage. I can't remember, but it was like 20% he landed at, to Canelo's 30%.
Boxng is scored round by round, and Canelo controlled majority of the aspects used to score each round for at least 6 rounds (with his KD, he only needs to win 6 rounds).
Not only did Canelo make Trout hit air all night, but he also made him do the stanky leg! hahahaha, he did the "STANKY LEG OF THE YEAR"!!! "Do the stanky leg! Do the stanky leg"!!!
