Canelo is criminally overrated

i love canelo as fighter, textbook boxer/puncher, in the vein of a lot of my favorite fighters. i do think he's been force fed to us as a star but he isn't, hasn't and won't be the only one that'll get put on a pedestal without doing much.

his stans need to turn down the fa99otry though.

I don't hate him, I got no reason to hate him, I just don't like the hype. It's childish and illogical.

I never used to be a fan of Canelo because I felt everything was put on a plate for him and he didn't have to work for it, but he's won me over now, I still wouldn't really call myself a fan but I respect him. He's got a good attitude, he seems open to fighting everyone and we need more guys like that in boxing.

I think he won the Trout fight, it was close but clear enough.

I had Lara marginally beating him but I have no problem with Canelo getting the decision, Lara didn't help himself with his performance. I was expecting him to dominate Canelo.

There's nothing to dislike about the guy, he's proven himself.

The majority of fans and experts think he won close fights over both Lara and Trout. There have been many polls on this on here and Canelo always wins them. Edging out Trout and Lara is a big deal and a good accomplishment. Trout beat Cotto easily and you probably have Cotto rated highly. Canelo is rated by most as the best 154 pounder in the world because he is.

he fought trout when nobody would.
he fought lara when nobody would.


canelo isn't afraid too fight anybody. he's been chasing cotto for over a year and cant get him in the ring and I guarantee you that if canelo and ggg remain undefeated through this year that they will fight in may of 2016 in the biggest fight the sport will have too offer at that time

canelo is connected with Oscar for a reason.
