Do people really think that lowly of Froch? You see Chavez go life and death with a mediocre blow middleweight who is outweighed by a dozen pounds and think "Jeez, this Chavez will surely be competitive and exciting against one of the greatest super middleweight fighters of all time"
I've never hidden the fact that I don't rate Chavez Jr. But big events are great for boxing. I have no interest in seeing a complete no hoper and no name like Fonfara over a big international fight like Froch-Chavez.

Cotto is lineal MW champ thanks to what Chavez did to Sergio back then

Chavez lost the fight, Maravilla lost his career and probably his abilito to walk without a cane

lol Chavez got a beating but he really did end Maravilla boxing career that night I bet he regrets asking for that pay day now. Sergio won and lost at the same time lol

Its a competitive fight, Froch would have easily wiped the canvas with Jr.

I would have wanted to see it but lets be real, its a cherrypick money grab for Froch not that he doesn't deserve it anyway.

You are talking like Jr. is some proven world class fighter when he has plenty of controversial decisions against mediocre and worse fighters.

Wtf? I've called Jr a god damn bum in this very thread ffs

He's a huge name though and a fight against Froch would have been a great event.

Golovkin vs Cotto would probably be a blow out but wouldn't you want to see that because it's a big fight?

I will never give the slightest *** about Andrejz Fonfarna no matter how many plucky efforts he puts up.

Really? A no hoper? A top 5 light heavyweight is the no hoper against a guy who has done squat **** at 168, 175, and arguably at 160? You must think more highly of Chavez than what you let on. Not to mention Fonfora was involved in probably the the most exciting fight on Showtime last year.

I'm not saying in comparison to Chavez, I'm saying he's a no hoper and a no name in general. Just some plucky vanilla bum who'll never amount to anything or generate any real interest.

He's a bit like Bryan Vera which means he could well go life and death with Chavez and I still won't give a ***.

No, I don't want to watch fights that are just big fights because one guy is a name for some reason other than his boxing ability and the other a world class fighter.

Watching Jr get beat up? Fun yes but watching him possibly get ko'd in a even match by a relatively obscure fighter is even better.

                    You don't want Golovkin-Cotto then?

Oh ok great. No big fights. Vanilla bums like Fonfara will bring boxing back to the masses.

If it involves fighters of caliber and class I am all for it but Jr is a well matched protected tomato can. Forfara is average so we might have a competitive fight here which is better than mismatches anyday.
