This is actually a good match-up, it just seems a little lame considering the quality of opponent Chavez could be fighting and indeed who he has claimed he wanted to fight. He hasn't fought in nearly a year, turned down Golovkin and then the Froch stuff, claims on twitter that he wants Golovkin and Froch this year then signs to fight Fonfara. Boxing 101.

I think Chavez Jr. will fight Golovkin after he fights Froch. This is a good fight for Chavez Jr. after one year out of the ring. Golovkin doesn't bring any more to the table than Fonfara.

Chavez-Golovkin was going to be PPV, so yes he did bring more to the table than Fonfara. Maybe Chavez will fight Froch and Golovkin but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
