What? That doesn't make any sense. Oscar and Canelo want to announce the fight now, so they can start the promotional tour. If indeed the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight comes off, which if we're really honest there is no guarantee that the fight will actually be made, then you move it to the next date that makes the most sense. You move it to June and you make it in New York. Oscar has already said this. Canelo said he has no problem fighting in NYC if it made sense.

All this is Cotto just being his typical diva self. He has a history of being an arse in negotiations. Canelo just wasn't having anymore. Canelo is a B side yes, but he's not a B side the way Rodriguez or Sergio Martinez were.

For those who do not understand, Cotto is about Business, If he grabs the fight with Canelo on May2, And Pacquiao grabs the date with Mayweather on May2 , who will be making money?????? How would Roach train both guys for the same exact date? How would he be in each corner on that same night. Its clearly not a duck, its a business move to wait for a proper date and match-up. Canelos dumbass is doing all he can to get the date, when clearly, him losing the Cotto fight gives him nothing in terms of buys really. Unless he challenges GGG, Doubtful. but at this point if pac vs floyd ends up being signed in late Jan early Feb may 2 is too little time to promote and train who if you were smart pac vs floyd more than likely wouldn't taken place on May. it doesnt really need cinco de mayo it is a big fight already regardless of the date.
