Even if Hopkins tries to dance around the ring, his balance isn't fully there

    Smh

I hope he retires. The kovalev fight was the worst I've ever seen Bernard by far
lol stop crying you b!tch.kovalev dominated hopkins no excuses.

I wonder if after Kovalev KOs Pascal, Andre Ward will again say:

"After I beat Kovalev, then what?"

You know because it's not like Ward can't move right back down to 168...like Floyd, Manny and dozens of other great fighters have done...

Pascal fought a better version yes but not by that much. If anyone can lay claim to beating Bernard and actually have some valid point its Joe Calzaghe (yuck) I feel dirty saying that. Even then Bernard didn't let his hands go.
No doubt his aged played a part, both in terms of his output and durability. But the reason why he lasted so long at that level is partly because he was adept at dragging the fight down to his tempo, fighting in intelligent spurts, and disrupting his opponents attacks with preemptive shots and counters. He didn't need a high work rate to win fights. He relied on his ring IQ.

He was good enough at doing that, that he was still a world champion in-spite of his age. I wouldn't deny that it's a factor but nor would I give anyone a pass on account of their age if they're still wearing a belt. It's not like he was dragged out of retirement to take the fight. A lot of people picked him to win. Kovalev may just be carrying enough power that had he fought him seven years ago the result would still have been the same.

I can see him going gunning for Pascal come fight night.

How do you see this going? Im taking Pascal by K.O. before the 7th.

He has the edge in durability
                Speed although not by much
Countering- which he does way better than Kovalev

And he has the benefit of Kovalevs defense being piss poor.
I think Pascal lands in the center of the ring and he has the advantage in exchanges as we have seen Kovalev get rocked by weaker guys than Pascal who has taken bombs to the face and walked through it.

yes kovalev will beat pascal by ko.pascal has terrible stamina and I predict that kovalev will attack pascal's body to tire him out even quicker.pascal got a great chin and he is quick but he fights in spurts causing him to take rounds off due to fatigue.being tired with your back against the ropes is a bad place to be against kovalev.

I like boxing ability and as a rule of thumb I tend to go with the better technical boxer but I'm starting to come around to the idea that Kovalev has the kind of heavy hands that can be a great leveller.

Every point you've made I'd agree with apart from the outcome and Pascal having the better of the exchanges. I'm hoping that this guys power is the real deal and this is the fight to prove that. . . . Or in other words, I'm bording the bandwagon.

I've got Pascal's corner pulling him from the fight in the later rounds.

It's true Hopkins wasn't the same. But at the same time Kovalev fought excellent and had a great game plan. Can't take anything away from Kovalev.
