I wasn't even aware that he'd started his own company and decried that deal.

I read other articles that said Oscar did this because he didn't want to have to ask permission from haymon to make fights anymore. They are parting ways, its good for fans because now we can see more golden boy fighters go against top rank, which is something Richard sharfer and al haymon didn't want to do and that's why GBP and ShowTime suffered in the ratings last year
