Did he humiliate him? Far from it. Then again that Bradley win in my view actually made a argument for Pacquiao at #2.

See post above. It's Booty Dew. His sig used to be a picture of a line of white boxers saying "we taking over baby" and then it was Angel Garcia. Also his constant taunts to Khan.
And Kovalev was knocked down against Caparello. The same people crucifying Rigondeaux were shouting how that didn't matter at all because Kovalev came back to destroy the guy. But apparently it really matters if Rigondeaux gets knocked down.

Asking for consistency is a lot for some.

Yeah, I suppose some of you are quick to put guys on a pedastal. That's basically what it boils down to. One key win , better yet one key fight and off to the top we go.............

            That's not my philosophy.

Can someone tell me why he is overrated other than the belief you feel his chin isn't great?

He is clearly one of if not the most skilled in all of boxing. He totally schooled a top 5 p4p fighter.
He has some decent but not great wins to go with that in Amagasa, Marroquinn, Agbeko, Ramos, Kennedy, Corboda and so on. They're all world class or bordering.

Hes done this in 15 pro fights.

Won a world title in about his 9th, unified in his 12th. How many fighters have ever done this? and I'd be willing to bet the few that did didn't do it against that level of competition.

I don't get the hate its like one person says it and the rest run with it. If you think hes an overrated fighter then you're out of your mind.

Yup. I like Kovalev but he gets knocked down by journeymen too.

Oh well this is NSB after all.

I don't hate the guy but what annoys me about him is his ****** lapses that a technician like him should not make. It is a disease of the talented and makes him sort of fight down to his opposition. To me that is a problem because it is playing with fire it happens against the wrong guy and it is real problems.

That almost never gets mentioned by his haters though, in fact a couple people ever mention that root issue. Who knows when that costs him though because fighting to the level of the competition is a two way street a focused Rigondeaux is a dangerous man people seem to forget that.

It is the same thing with any really good boxer really, maybe a guy is good enough to force them to really fight but is that guy going to be good enough to deal with the results of that.

Well they can hardly say hes boring now so they had to find something else to move onto to fit their agenda. Fighter hits the canvas doesn't matter if he wasn't hurt, was off balance or the guy was huge and a decent puncher it automatically means he has a glass jaw and was exposed.

I've seriously never heard anything so ****** in all my life as ripping a guy for getting dropped by an opponent who outweighed him by almost 20lbs. A guy who has knockout power the division above. 19 K.Os or something in 27 wins and that is in Japan where most of their fighters seem to be able to take a real pasting.
He wasn't even hurt he just got clipped by a real lengthy opponent as he spun out.

We've seen him take monster shots from Nonito Donaire ffs who might be p4p one of the hardest punchers in boxing. He actually took his power better than Walters did, is he packing glass too?
Marroquinn - Another good puncher hit him clean - A lapse in concentration and the only time he was truly stunned. What did he do? Stayed upright, immediately fired a wicked shot to the body in before tying him up.
He don't have a granite chin but its certainly not glass and he stays very composed and does all the right things when tagged.
He can be stunned but following up with anything is a whole different story.
His recuperative abilities are second to none.

I've seen that very shot right there put granite chinned opposition in a morgue.
