Comments Thread For: Holyfield: Klitschkos Would Have Did Fine in My Era

Future Hall of Famer Evander Holyfield's career may have ended in 2011 but the prime of his career took place during the 90's when the heavyweight division was in a golden era. Holyfield faced Hall of Fame members Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis twice apiece and Rid**** Bowe three times while also fighting several other elite fighters.

Wonder if Bowe would've threw his belt in the garbage for them?

Doubt it, in the 90s Wlad wouldn't have had Steward or the weak competition.

The Klitschkos would have been elite in ANY era. Why is it always the same that fans and experts tend not to give great fighters credit while they are still active and only begin to appreciate them after their careers have been over for a while? Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis both fall into this category. The Klitschkos may not always have thrilled, but they are big, strong, smart, well schooled and always superbly conditioned. Whether you adore them or not, give them their due.

No doubt in my mind that wlad beats foreman, Morrison, Moorer, tua, grant, tyson post prison,..

Only bowe, lennox, and evander would be capable enough to beat WLAD, outside of a random punchers chance like McCall, ibeubuchi, Bert cooper..

To think a guy like wlad or vitali wouldn't have success in any era is absurd..
They may not have 14 title defenses but they would be major players in any era

In Holyfield's & Holmes' era...yes. Not in the Ali-Frazier-Foreman era...just prior. Loads of guys that were quick and punch BIG!

Holyfield is right, the Klitschkos could compete in any era. They are among the best heavyweights there has been.
