Comments Thread For: Holyfield: Klitschkos Would Have Did Fine in My Era

I do agree that One of the Klitchko brothers would have made an impact whether small or big. Vitali had a great chin, power and skill but Wlad would get KO'D a good number of the Greats of the 90's. The two are very different wise of Chin strength and composure. The Lewis/Klitchko fight was an amazing fight, Vitali was putting in work prior to the cut and very well could have ended the night early for Lewis if the cut didn't get to the extreme it did.
Personally in just a couple years, I see Anthony Joshua being the new face in boxing and I would truly enjoy to see him KO Wlad. Individuals who actually got to watch the 90's heavyweight divison were lucky and unfortunately the lack of current strong contenders at Heavyweight has shown the weakness in the Klitchko reign. Joshua I believe will bring back the greatness the heavyweight divison is missing.
Back to the Klitchko's, only One of the Two in my view would have done something outside of this era. Put Wlad against a Prime Louis (KO), Dempsey (KO), Marciano (KO), Ali (KO), Foreman (KO), Holmes (KO), Tyson (KO), Holyfield (Decision), Lewis (KO), Liston (KO)... Their are very few of the past greats I would say Wlad would stand a chance. Vitali on the other hand I believe would put up a good fight, unknowing exactly how it may turn out.

All this speculation should have ended on page 4 from my quote below: Yes the K bros are good Heavyweights and will be inducted into the HOF, but they are not all time greats! read below
Holyfield knows dam well Wlad K would not be shyt - Vitali has a shot because he fights very long, and has a good set of whiskers. Wlad fights like he is have a panic attack. too timid for a Mike Tyson - don't get me wrong he is a specimen but he has no chin and he hates pressure. Someone on here tried to say he would outbox Joe Louis ??? Learn the sport and do your research... Someone else said Vitali would have beaten Lennox Lewis - well he did not beat lennox Lewis when they fought - does anyone on here know the story behind that fight? Lewis was supposed to fight Kirk Johnson a 6"2 250 guy, Kirk Johnson got injured about 2 - 3 weeks out from the fight so HBO offered Lewis some extra $ to fight him, this is why Lewis came into the fight very heavy - he beat a prime Vitali with a 2 - 3 week notice, Lewis is a top 10 heavyweight! he avenged all of his losses and cleared out his division! Back to the guy who said Wlad would have out boxed Joe Louis - how many HOF fighters does Wlad have on his resume? the closes would be Chris Byrd or even David Haye - . Joe Louis faced 7 Hall Of Famers: Max Schmeling, Max Baer, Billy Conn, Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott , Rocky Marciano and Jimmy Bivins - He lost to Max Schmeling(hof) by KO - won the rematch, and lost to Ezzard Charles (hof) UD and Rocky Marciano (hof) by KO - So basically he only lost to HOFer's while Wlad lost to Lamon Brewster, Ross Purity, and Corrie Saunders all by KO - to average to good fighters - do your research and stop shooting from the Hip - too much information out there -

The usual suspects still trying to discredit the Klitschko's.here they have the perfect guy to back up their claims the brothers wouldn't hang well in the 90's yet Holyfield states the opposite, dude ain't ever gonna come out and say they'd both beat me or the man who beat me ie Lewis and Bowe though is he,at least you guys can cling to that.

Bbbu but I'm an NSB veteran with 500000 rep power who hangs out in the history section! I know more!
Lmfao the amount of try hard losers on here who SWEAR they knoooow everrrything about boxing because they hang out in the history section and watch free fights on youtube (lol) are hilarious.
A really pathetic bunch, I won't name anybody but you know who they are.
ANYBODY who says 6'7 HWs with the athleticism, strength and skillset of the KLITs wouldnt be competitive in ANY HW era are straight up delusional
My favorite are the "HW boxing historians" who act like their opinion matters or act like they know HW boxing so well because they read a couple old school books and watched black and white fights on youtube
I know artickes like these that make you know that your irrevant opinions mean absolutey nothing just burn your soul.
Lmfao

I think Vitali would do a lot better than Wladimir in that era. Still don't think he'd be a dominant champion.

I don't think anyone ever disputed weather they would have been fine or not in any era, but would they be the elites? Nope. In the 90's Lennox, Evander, Tyson and Bowe were above everyone else. Then came the Morrison's, Tua's, Tucker's, Bruno's, McCal's and 50 year old Foreman and Holmes. They would have been in that group of fighters, not elites but still very good.
