They aren't incompetent strikers. MMA striking is never going to look the same as "sweet science" boxing because you need to accept that doesn't work in a fight with kicks and tackles.
With that said I do agree it's been a very boring sport for a while. I was heavily into it in the early 2000s, lost a bit of interest when Pride died, stopped watching mostly when the ATG Chael P. Sonnen retired.
Someone said this was supposed to be like the May Pac of the UFC
No idea who these dudes are
This rivalry was pretty fake. They weren't even supposed to fight originally. Cormier was an injury substitute for the real fight people wanted to see (Gustaf rematch).
There was a shoving match and some words exchanged during an interview so the UFC was all over it, but Cormier is not that great.
Wtf does this have to do with anything? Who gives a sh it if it sells more. I want to be entertained and MMA just doesn't do it
... Where did I say that I was "entertained" or something like that?
... It's a different sport, doe... and it still sells PPVs -- a lot more than some "huge boxing stars", doe... Do you have a problem?
All the grappling really wears thin after some time, on the highlights of their commercials they show all these flashy spinning kicks and choke holds, and when the fight starts 90% of the fight is spent tying up and grappling with no one throwing punches, maybe a knee every 10-15 seconds.
But atlest they do fight eachother, MMA fans don't have to see 10,000 threads on why a fighter is ducking. ugh
