hate to say it not because in there prime he was not better than Jones. But Joe has ruled the Div. for years and he still will.

Jones and Toney did not have better careers at SMW than Calzaghe or Eubank. Now if you want to argue they were/are better fighters, that's something else, but there's no way they accomplished more at 168.

Calzaghe will probably go down as the best SMW if he retires undefeated now that he is unified champion. None of the other great SMWs have been able to win unification bouts that I remember, and more often than not they never even tried.

When did Toney say this? I've only ever heard of him referring to british fighters as bums. Didn't Toney once appear on Jonathon Ross' show and say he could beat Benn and Eubank on the same night...

JT talks about everyone as bums! We'll never know but those fights would have been mega (and apart fron RJJ) and would have been his hardest fights

I would say RJJ at the time being, however if Joe goes on to beat Roy/Beyer/Kessler at the weight and unify the division, then I think JC would take over the reins

Probably Roy Jones. Roy Jones junior beats them all, other than possibly Chris Eubank if Eubank was at his very best.

Eubank looked like a very, very special fighter until the Benn fight absolutely wrecked him,and the Watson fight was the final nail in the coffin. He looked such a shell of himself in all those 168 defences and then became a laughing stock in his first three fights on Sky Sports, until the Wharton fight when he finally found some form again(due to the British Boxing Board of Control not allowing him to lose all the weight in the last few days for the first time ever).

Jones didnt do much at supermiddle apart from beat a weight drained Toney and his 5 defences were opponents who even ranked in the top 10.
Can someone tell me how he is the best supermiddleweight of all time?
