Here are the candidates..
Chris Eubank - dug deep inside himself to get Watson out of there, awesome KO of Jarvis, beat Thornton easier than James Toney managed, excellent performance against Rocchigaini in Germany, excellent performance against Wharton, robbed against Collins in their first fight (referee didn't count the knockdown in round two), floored Collins twice (in round two and round 10, Collins had only ever been floored by a body shot beforehand).
Nigel Benn - bashed up Galvano in Italy, excellent display of head movement and body punching against Piper, smashed Gent over five times (Gent had only been stopped on cuts by big cruiserweights), robbed in Eubank rematch, excellent display of jabbing and head movement against Wharton, climbed back in ring after 30 secs to beat McClellan, robbed against Malinga when Steele called a knockdown in last round when clearly a slip (the way the scoring was Benn would of won, and agents working for Roy Jones were in the crowd ready with the contract for Benn to fight Jones next), made 10 defences of his WBC title.
James Toney - excellent performance against Barkley, beat the poor mans Marvin Hagler (Thornton), given one more round against undefeated Littles due to cut and got him out of there, got Prince Charles out of there in tough fight.
Roy Jones - completely dominated and humiliated Toney (although Toney was severely weight-drained), made five defences of his IBF title and sparred with those opponents but somehow managed to avoid Eubank, Benn, McClellan, Nunn, Liles, Collins and Calzaghe.
Steve Collins - won every round against Eubank in their second fight (although Eubank was burned out and weight-drained), went toe-to-toe with Benn twice and didn't get knocked down.
Joe Calzaghe - floored Eubank for first time in his life after 10 secs and got through tough fight (although Eubank was rusty and weight-drained), got through tough fight with Brewer, floored for first time in his life against Mitchell but got back up and stopped him that same round, won every minute of every round against Lacy.
Sven Ottke - controversial decisions against Brewer, Johnson, Mitchell, Starie, Larsen and Reid, but somehow retired unbeaten.
Well?

Well?
neither is a severely weight-drained Eubank and a Lacy in the class of Eubank and G-Man.
