It's the countereffect of the absolutely insane hype and overrating he has been getting since the Donaire win. No wonder his fans are called "cult of Rigo", many of them worship him like a god.

Remember what happened when Caparello scored a balance KD on Kovalev? People were using it as the ultimate proof that Kovalev is a hypejob and that Hopkins would school him.

The truth is that he is a very highly skilled fighter but not pefect, like anybody else he is capable of being caught and dropped, it's boxing. So he isn't a perfect fighter and has some flaws like other fighters. If he was to get knocked out, i would be surprised but not shocked at all. I think it's very possible.

I suppose you when you look at it in context, love him or hate him, you have to admire that Floyd has fought 47 times, against some huge names and punchers yet he has never suffered a knockdown in the fashion Rigo has. That's incredible really.
And Rigo have never looked bad like Mayweather looked vs Castillo and Maidana.

And Rigo have never been fighting with chicken leg and holding for his life as long as Mayweather was vs Mosley. Holding onto his arm save him for touching the canvas.

Also Mayweather never try to face boxers 6+ inches taller than him on their home country at the age of 34.

And if size is not a problem he should definitely face Lara the #1 contender or GGG to see if his chin is so strong. Imagine if same size Mosley was able to rocked him what all these long boxers with power will do.

And what was the record of the first 12 pro boxer that Mayweather faced?

Better to get knocked down but dominate the rest of the fight than to lose to a Salido level fighter.

It's the usual trolls that you can expect.

The reason the "usual trolls" do what they do is posters like you.

Is it impossible to be a Rigo fan without taking little potshots at Loma and acting all butthurt whenever he gets praise or hype?

            Swings in round abouts.

I think Loma is a very good fighter and I like him, but just like you're saying, I find his fan base to be rather tedious. The amount of nonsense posted has long past silly, they go on and on about Rigo getting knocked down so every now and again you just have to remind them that Loma has lost to a very average Salido.

              Pretty much this.

Funny thing is, 80% of those morons never actually seen this fight.

I genuinely don't know what you're talking about. There are some Rigo haters who use Loma as their point-to man, but actual Loma fans have zero problem with Rigo.

And yes, an inexperienced Loma lost to Salido (according to the judges). But let's not erase Rigo's struggles with a past prime Cordoba and a downright terrible Marroquin from the record books, either. I mean, if Cordoba had gotten the SD win over Rigo (could have happened and wouldn't have been a robbery), would that make Rigo less great a fighter?

These are just goofballs trying to look all hip and cool with their Rigo bumsniffing, being a fan of a fringe fighter is the 'hip' thing on boxingscene, similar to 'beer snobs' who overrate unknown beers to try and look more knowledgeable and worldly

As I said in my other post, I was responding to the usual troll posters. They repeat the same nonsense over and over and every now and again you just have to drop them that little reminder to counter balance their delusions.

The only close fight Rigo has had is Cordoba, but he did enough to win and most importantly got a very valuable lesson for moving onto the bigger and better opponents. We'll see how Loma has learned when he faces another solid pressure fighter: his footwork, constant switching of angles and variety should see him through but he'll have to be able to adjust next time.
