Rigondeaux's chin is a bit shaky.

But Amagasa is 5' 11", Cordoba is 5' 8", and Marroquin is 5' 8", they all lost. Rigondeaux is no stranger to height and reach disadvantage. If Pacquiao fought like Wladimir Klitschko, then I would say his height/reach would be a problem. But Pacquiao's style makes his physical advantages mute. I would say his speed, power and footwork is his asset in this fight, not height and reach. Also, the way Pacquiao gained so much weight on fight night in the lower weights, he'd have the size advantage. Which means, he could take a punch better, like Salido did vs Lomachenko. So I would say Pac's size would be more of a factor than height.

I'd favor Pacquiao, and simply because his style back then. Explosive, off rhythm fighter, and made you fight every single minute.

He punches probably harder than Rigondeaux, and the type of punch Amagasa KD Rigo with are the type of punches Pacquiao would throw because he was a wild and reckless and would throw from every odd angle, not because he thought it was good idea but because it was instinct.

Hmm, I don't think so. But I can see the argument. Pacquiao was very raw at 122, but he was also a pure force of nature. Like nothing most people had ever seen.

Rigo is a wizard, but could he swerve Manny's onslaughts for 12 rounds? Manny could really punch at that weight too.

Hard to call. I think Rigo could win 8 rounds but could also get dropped 3 or 4 times along the way. Need to see more of what Rigo looks like against a great offensive fighter. He hasn't really faced one. Donaire was too much of a counter-puncher to really pressure Rigo and take him out of his comfort zone.

I wasn't linking that as a criticism, just thought you'd like to read what had been said before by other posters.

122 is not his best weight, but it is one of his better ones. he had some insane power and speed then

i'd favor manny, he was a different beast from donaire

Pac is very fast at 122. He might get out-boxed but when PAC lands that straight left it will be lights out.

I'd still go with PAC because of the speed.

Rigo has seen a hundred southpaws before, Pacquaio at that time had hardly seen any (still hasn't) nevermind one like Rigondeaux.

His time at super Bantam was before his peak. He was still very good but raw.

There is nothing wrong with Rigondeaux's chin what so ever. Amagasa is 5ft10 and weighed in at 141, still he wasn't hurt. The only fighter that truly buzzed him was Marroquinn. He is constantly changing levels, pivoting and on the balls of his feet and has been clipped a few times when hes not been on balance. Its funny how people think you just need to be a puncher and land one shot against the guy. He is in tremendous condition, recovers instantly and keeps his bearings. Its virtually impossible to finish up with anything.

Seriously a horrible style match up for Pacquaio.
Nobody beats Rigo at 122, hes the best fighter the division has ever seen.

George Foreman said during Pac's fight against Ledwaba

"you dont want to box this guy, you want to fight him"

Pac did exactly that and obliterated Ledwaba, granted Rigo is far above Ledwaba.. Pac will be landing thunderous shots.

The thing here is whenever I see Rigo hurt, he wants to hurt you back bad.. but Pac does the same thing back and he's been willing to take a punch to knock you out.
