I agree with that. He is kinda like in the role Hopkins was in. He was stuck fighting no hopers at 160, and waiting for other guys to move up to fight him for years. Bernard proved that time did not hurt him, as he outlasted expectations. GGG is running under a clock, and unfortunately has to wait as there is nothing directly north for him. He tried for the Froch and the Chavez fights, to build his brand, but they did not turn out. Ward is the only viable and true potential option, but that is on freeze.

I just wonder, how many years will it take for Ward to sit on his couch to stop his fans bringing up his name when there's a GGG article out? I am guessing another 5-6 years. It was a long time before people forgot Ike Ibeabuchi...

Call me crazy but I have a sneaking feeling Andy Lee might pull the upset.

If I had points to bet, I would bet it all on the upset.

Golovkin is extremely overrated, and against a fighter that's so fundamentally sound with a devastating right hook, I could see Andy Lee setting Golovkin up and getting him out of there.

Why do you keep saying "he could fight Ward" when Ward is inactive and has said that he won't fight GGG without a couple of tune-ups first?

GGG can't fight Ward because Ward isn't ready to fight him, and maybe never will be.

Makes sense you would take that bet, you are at minus -7,382,869,274,887,570.00 somehow. How in the wold did you end up in the minuses?

I like taking risks. Andy Lee isn't the underdog for nothing.

But I think he has a more than good shot. Golovkin has never been seriously hurt, never been taken into deep waters, and andy lee has the weaponry and ability to catch him and lay down some punishment.

He also has the experience, knowledge and boxing ability to deal with his power. He's been already been in there with chavez and jackson.

I really like Andy lee in this fight. Golovkin is so overrated. If Andy Lee comes in with the right gameplan and preparation I absolutely see the upset.

So the earliest the fight could happen,is in 2016. My question is,how is trying to unify titles, and become the lineal champ being protected? I mean lees last 2 fights have ended with him knocking the **** out of guys, who he was the underdog against,so you can't really call him a bum,or a cherry pick.
Two tune-ups was what Ali had before facing Joe Frazier in March of '71. Hunter may well want to rethink the two tune-ups strategy if Ward's 3rd opponent is to be GGG.

There's taking risks, and then there's having no clue what you're either watching and/or talking about.

People are just hating on him for reason, and it seems like its the Floyd fans who feel ggg is a threat to mayweathers p4p status so they want to criticize him for not moving up a division for no reason when there is obviously more for him to accomplish at middleweight like unifying the division. Andre ward would be a fight best fought when he actually comes out of his retirement and takes a tube up fight and beats someone good too so there would be excitement built up and it could be on ppv. Why would he throw everything he has accomplished at middleweight out of the window to move to a division he hasn't fought before and fight the best fighter he's ever faced for a little amount of money when he can wait until hes done cleaning out the middleweight division and is a bonafied ppv star and then slowly transitions up in weight like any other normal fighter does. They don't just automatically jump up a higher weight class and immediately fight the top dog, they usually take a tune up fight themselves and then fight a decent opponent and then they go for the top guys. What you idiots expect him to do isn't expected by anybody else. By your logic why doesn't Floyd mayweather fight ggg? Ggg has said he wants to fight him and ggg is active unlike ward so now is mayweather a coward for not taking that fight? He is a coward for other reasons, mainly his pacquiao problems but not for "ducking" ggg

                      Sorry, you're crazy.

Are people really going to start overrating Andy Lee now? Korobov is nobody. Jackson is nobody. Beating them does not even come close to meaning he can hang with Gennady freaking Golovkin.
