GGG finally got his name at 160 where other fighters cannot simply brush his name under a rug. He is considered the top gun there that people need to go through. If he moved up to 168, everyone there can say GGG has proved nothing at the weight and does not deserve a fight. GGG is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He has to stay where he is at. Right now 168 has no real options for him.
He can hang out at 160 but he will be waiting like 2 years for a meaningful fight (that is a hopeful estimate) if he moves to 168 stuff would be more in motions and someone would be more likely to go for it, plus if he starts knocking out 168 pounders that is a better look for his power.

At 160 guys still don't need to fight him, he can easily be bypassed going up doesn't change that but I see that status quo as far worse for his chances at getting something meaningful than making a move up.

It is not as simple as moving up and everything being awesome for him, but there comes a time when you **** or get off the pot for the 160 pound division for me it is time for him to get off the pot but maybe we will all get surprised and something breaks for him at 160 this year.

He wants to clean out his division and he has every right to. He cannot fight Jermain anyway. Politics involved. Just like he cannot fight Quillin or Jacobs. They are all with Haymon.

There are so many realities that people simply ignore in this place. Like why doesn't he fight Ward? Why does he not go to 168? Someone please explain to me how 168 is a better option. No bullsh|t please. Explain to me who at 168 will fight him, that can fight him? Who at 160 is willing to fight him? Who at 160 and 168 can fight him without politics getting in the way.

There are answers and very obvious ones to each of those questions, but so many ignore them for some hidden agenda. I can see through the BS clear as day.

What fight does he have at 168, that would be a guarantee for him? Please answer me.

I remember when there was an option for Cotto to go against Lee after the Martinez fight and mann the flack he got but now it's COOL for Golovkin booooooooyyy.

He can fight ward? Really? Ward is sitting on a friggin couch somewhere and hasn't fought in 13 months (and will not be fighting in the near future because of promotion disputes). I don't get how some fans keep coming up with the same "ohhhh he scared of ward doe!" bull**** but c'mon man, i see you on this site all the time. You have boxing knowledge and know what's going on. Don't mention ward until he is active and pursuing fights. For now, he's just an analyst on hbo.

Nothing is a guarantee in life, I said my problem was he isn't daring to be great. Daring to be great holds no guarantees, it is a leap of faith.

If Golovkin was in his late 20 I could see waiting, but given that he is 33 he has to force things to happen and going to 168 is a challenge for a fighter that relies on offense.

I want to see how good he is I don't think we are finding out that info at 160, at 168 there is a chance.

So guarantee nah it is nothing like that, it is the same (which to me is nowhere close to good enough I have tolerated it enough) or a chance at something different. Give me something different everyday and twice on Sunday.

I guess none really but at least then he has the possibility of people thinking he may be an easier target at 168 than 160 because he is moving up in weight. At 160....I just don't see him being able to do much after a Lee win. He could fight N'Dam, Trout, or Saunders but I mean what do those fights do for him? Lemieux is the only meaningful fight at 160 imo because it would pit him against the only guy who can maybe match him on a power level. Cotto and Quillin will never set foot in a boxing ring with him so they are immediately off the board.

Name me one fighter at 168, that he can fight, that he could sign to fight tomorrow. Just one. Don't ignore the politics. To make it simple, he has less guarantee's there.

What many in here do not see, is that the 168 division is now a dead division. Nothing is happening there. We got one guy who is either Willingly or Forced into a semi retirement, another guy (froch) with his ass already halfway out the door, and a few Haymon dudes that GGG cannot fight. That division, is now worse than 160. Just take a step back and look at it. It fizzled out. At least 160 is moving along and has signs of life, even if it is weak.
