Cotto would probably make more fighting canelo than he would mayweather because he would be a side in a super fight and he would further elevate his status if he beats canelo which he has a better chance of than if he fought mayweather. Cotto mayweather 2 is a disgrace to the sport if boxing if it means we can't see mayweather pacquiao and canelo cotto. Those are the two fights fans want to see not mayweather cotto 2. Pacquiao canelo is a huge fight but not as big ad mayweather pacquiao

By the way, its clear that Cotto and Mayweather are using each other as leverage to get what they want.

All we hear about the Cotto-Canelo negotiations is Canelo wants this, Canelo wants that... Doesnt sound like Cotto had much say in anything.

Cotto fighting Floyd means Canelo loses everything, including that precious date.

Mayweather knows it's unwise to take any more time off at this stage so I would expect Cotto to make serious money in a rematch.

I think using each others name is for leverage too.... but I don't think he loses the date. They'll stick on it with a regular HBO show to spite them, something Sho can't afford

Well nothing more for Canelo to do. If we do get Mayweather-Cotto II, I'd like to see Canelo fight Kirkland in San Antonio on regular HBO on May 2nd, we're losing two super fights for a rematch with a known result. No since rewarding the two men responsible.

i just don't see why so many people don't think want to see this. the first fight was very good and very competitive. cotto looks much better going into this fight than he did the first one and mayweather looks to be slipping.

cotto is capable of winning this fight IMO.

It will just prove how badly Mayweather and Cotto are ducking. If the fight happens I will stop watching boxing, seriously. And hopefully Canelo fights Pacquiao or GGG on Cinco de Mayo.
Ducking Canelo to fight the best fighter in the world?
