Sorry you're not aware... but Cotto is presently not signed to Top Rank or Bob Arum. Cotto simply employs Top Rank to promote him for one fight at a time if he so desires. Therefore, Cotto is a free agent currently, actually. This means that Mayweather will NOT have to deal with Bob in order for Cotto and Mayweather to reach an agreement for a fight.

Those who're aware do in fact remember that the first Mayweather-Cotto fight was made shortly after Cotto became a free agent after he (Cotto) completed his then contract under Top Rank.

People need to realize that if Cotto can secure a fight with Floyd then thats the fight he has to take. Beating Floyd will mean a lot more for his career then beating Canelo will. Either way, Freddy looks like he's going to be getting his shot at Floyd with either Cotto or Manny.
