It was put to him and he went off on one, got angry and said "Let them try to take my date", he seemed to think he was untouchable but now it seems that isn't true. It was definitely him who made the big deal of the date, he took it as a challenge.

I don't really think a rematch is necessary at all. I don't see how Cotto could possibly win, but there are worse fights he could take I suppose.
It was a tough fight, Mayweather admitted as much. Most of the rounds were close and the difference now is Cotto is a much better physical specimen at the weight working with conditioning coach Gavin McMillan and of course, he has Freddie Roach in his corner coming off two stoppage wins.

There's intrigue to a rematch imo, first fight was good.

It was a challenge.Canelo said he wanted the date too. Mayweather not only already easily beat Canelo but he also sells a lot more PPV. What did you expect him to say? "Okay Canelo you can have my date?"

Why would it be a catchweight? If Cotto weighs in at 155 it's a middleweight fight. MW doesn't have to weigh over 150.

Believe what you want homie. Showtime has never discussed those terms of the contract and never once said Floyd has carte blanche over picking his opponents.
Dan Rafeal wrote and tweeted when the deal was announced that his insiders told him only the first fight was a guarantee and after that they had to come to an agreement in order to pay him that. I will believe him over your hurt feelings.
If you think Showtime is dumb enough to not have any say in Floyd's opponents or dates then you are a naive one.

Mayweather-Pacquiao or Mayweather-Cotto 2 on Cinco de Mayweather. Either one is good with me as there are historical implications for both fights. Pacquiao would add an ATG name to Mayweather's resume and Cotto would give him an opportunity at an 11th title in a 6th weight class and a 6th lineal title in a 5th weight class.

I would prefer Pacquiao as that is the fight we've been waiting for, but a part of me is interested in seeing Mayweather steal Cotto away from Canelo just to spite Canelo's rhetoric and piss in Arum/DLH's face.

I was surprised he cared so much to be honest, he seemed to display more emotion about a date than he ever does discussing opponents.

Lol no he didn't I haven't heard much from Floyd.. It's been everybody at hbo doing millions of interviews about him.. Seem like hbo a little bitter. If Floyd fought on New years everyone would be trying to fight on new years

Middleweight is up to 160 too,so when the opponent doest want the other fighter weighing 160(middleweight) we consider it a catchweight, you r right when u say 155 is still middleweight, but so is 160, if one fighter wants to weigh 155 ho ahead but when he says in this fight middleweight limit stops at 155 its a catchweight cuz hes not letting opponent weight whatever he wants within the division
